How To Replace A Central Vacuum Filter?

How To Replace A Central Vacuum Filter

Replacing your central vacuum filter is an important part of central vacuum system maintenance.

Your filter won’t function properly if it is ripped or pierced. Therefore, it’s best to regularly inspect your filter for holes or tears and replace it as necessary. Additionally, a filthy or damaged filter can clog the motor or the entire power unit, resulting in partial or complete suction loss, overheating, and slowed power unit performance.

How To Change Filter In Central Vacuum (Cloth)

  1. Make sure that the power unit is switched off before changing the filter bag.
  2. Take off the power unit’s top cover plate.
  3. Slide the bag carefully away from the PVC pipe.
  4. Throw away the used filter bag.
  5. Slide the new filter bag over the PVC pipe until the pipe is fully covered.
  6. Return the top cover plate.

Why Use A Central Vacuum HEPA Filter?

You should get a vacuum with a HEPA filter if you or a member of your family has allergies or asthma.

A HEPA filter, often known as a “high-efficiency particulate air” filter, is constructed of exceedingly tiny, interwoven fiberglass or plastic threads. It is made to capture at least 99.7% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 micrometers, providing cleaner, healthier air in your home.

For people who suffer from allergies or asthma, HEPA filters provide unequaled air filtration, which is very beneficial. Since it gathers all particles, it also eliminates bacteria, irritants, pet dander, and other elements that may aggravate or even cause these conditions.

How Often To Replace Filters

Depending on how frequently you use your vacuum cleaner, most central vacuum filters should be changed every six months. The greatest time to replace your filter will be when it begins to seem dirty or discolored.

To ensure that your vacuum cleaner continually gives off its optimum performance, it’s critical to replace your filter on a regular basis.
